Whether it’s your first time traveling or your hundredth time, a certain amount of preparation must take place. Hypnotherapy is a lot like traveling to an unknown destination ‒ a journey into the subconscious mind. There is seemingly a lot of mysticism surrounding hypnotherapy and, therefore, a lot of scepticism. However, there is a lot of information available on my website that discusses:

Get Comfortable

When attempting to achieve a profound state of relaxation, it is essential to eliminate any physical discomfort or distractions. Therefore, I usually advise clients to get a full night’s sleep in order to avoid falling asleep during their session.

Some other important tips:

  • Avoid wearing tightly fitted clothing or uncomfortable shoes.
  • Wear layers so that you can regulate your body temperature if necessary.
  • Avoid drinking caffeine or energy drinks at least 3 hours before your appointment.
  • If you wear contacts, consider wearing glasses for that day to avoid irritation in the eyes.
  • Ensure you are well fed on the day so you won’t be distracted by hunger or thirst during your session.

Be Open and Honest

Remember that despite what you may have heard, hypnotherapists are not mind-readers. On this journey to self-improvement, I have all the knowledge, experience and skills to equip you with the systems and solutions that will enhance the quality of your life. However, these solutions will be specifically tailored to your unique circumstances and life experiences. In these sessions, you need to be prepared to be open and clear about your goals as well as your challenges.

Try To Keep an Open and Positive Mindset

If you let your thoughts flow freely, you’ll be surprised at what you discover about yourself. Humans process information habitually, so if you tend to think negatively, the information you get will have a negative connotation. Try to avoid falling back into these negative thought patterns by keeping an open and positive mindset.

Be Ready and Committed to Change

Being committed to the transformation process will have an impact on the efficacy, speed and sustainability of your transformation. You can’t overcome your resistance to change if you’re not totally committed, no matter how brilliant your hypnotherapist is. You must be willing to put in the effort and embrace your hypnotherapy treatment as a tool for transformation, your positive outcomes.
