What Is Hypnotherapy & How Does It Work
Life experiences take us on the ups, downs and balance. I know and understand what it’s like to be trapped, perhaps a prisoner in what may seem a never-ending loop of negative thinking that may feel overwhelming, anxiety, feeling overwhelmed and other debilitating thinking that leaves you feeling unable to rest. In the world today where there is so much chaos, uncertainty, fear and antagonization going in the world, it is very present each and every day in people’s faces as they walk by, places I am called out to be either giving sessions, talks, workshops and courses. It seems everyone has some type or form of battle in overcoming their inner struggles they are facing.
As time passes there may have been something that triggered your confidence to dwindle, as this happens frustration, and fatigue sets I, feeling unable to accomplish goals you’ve set out, worry becomes evident each passing day, about the future, stress takes you on a journey of a spiral infusion of confusion, seeking validation, becoming needy, finding comfort in addictions.
My passion for hypnotherapy, NLP, spiritual psychology stems from a deep-seated sense of purpose. Since I was a child I always strived to help people, a passion to help others reach their goals, uncover the root of their problems within the infinite depths of their subconscious minds. By identifying the core issues, they are able to break free from the chains that bind. The driving force of developing systems and solutions to not only manage life, to forge forward and thrive, to excel and achieve their goals and the life they deserve, one free from their limitations and embrace their potential in all spheres within their lives.
What Is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy utilises various techniques within hypnosis or what is known as the hypnotic trance state. It is the support system self-activated treatment to relieve a certain specific set of specific symptoms or including specific health conditions. Hypnotherapy works by a process known as inducing a hypnotic state, this state is characterised by an awakened awareness, this state allows a sense of detachment of the sense of external attention, shifting the awareness and focus on inner experiences.
Hypnotherapy and stage hypnosis are very different from one another not to be confused, one is therapy utilising hypnosis, the other is performed by a trained and experienced entertainer with a penchant for reading people. Hypnotists utilise various levels of suggestibility, this will test the audience carefully who will be the perfect candidate and be willing to be more open to the hypnotist, will put on a performance.
The easiest way to describe the two, stage hypnosis is for entertainment value and hypnotherapy is specifically for therapeutic application, it is utilised with various other modalities such as NLP, mind mapping, framing, trigger applications and some of my speciality tools. In the 1700’s research begun into the therapeutic uses for hypnosis. Today, there is continuous growing evidence within the scientific research which supports its benefits in the therapeutic treatment of a wide range of emotional dis-ease, physical-emotional-mental-spiritual conditions relating health and wellbeing.
How Does Hypnotherapy Work?
During a hypnotherapy session, a hypnotherapist, like myself, is there to facilitate your process, call it a guide into inducing a heightened state of awareness, this is a process where you achieve a intense concentration, deep relaxation techniques using relaxation techniques with verbal cues and repetition, allowing you to naturally move into a state of focused attention to enter a trance-like state that is similar to sleep, known as hypnosis, here you are fully aware and in control, I will make guided suggestions, parting my wisdom designed to strengthen you from letting go, releasing the limiting belief systems, replacing them with positive empowering suggestions, statements and affirmations I guide you as I impart with my wisdom backed by decades of experience specifically designed to elevate you by strengthening you from within in order to achieve your general or specific therapeutic goals.
The hypnotic trance places you in a heightened state of awareness, here your brain becomes more receptive to the suggestions, proposals or advice that you would disregard or overlook in conscious awareness also known as your normal mental state. Within this altered state of awareness it is the perfect place where I can lay the groundwork for you to achieve your success, here is where the reframing of your limiting beliefs, it is here you become aware of how your limiting beliefs are released and your healing, journey to self-empowerment begins as I support you through your process of relieving you of your internal challenges. Through our sessions, as you progress through the steps I will continue to uplift and guide you in your transformation and blossoming of your inner and outer universe.
Hypnotherapy And the Brain
The brain activity of 57 people being monitored revealed in a study that during guided hypnotherapy discoveries were made during hypnosis, clear evidence revealed the two parts of the brain responsible for processing and managing the functioning and happenings in your body were far more active. Similarly, there is a region of your brain that’s function is being the responsible one for any of your actions and has the responsibility in the awareness of those actions seem neutralise and become disconnected.
